Shark Provisioning Influences the Gut Microbiota of the Black-Tip Reef Shark in French Polynesia

There is an increasing interest in touristic observations of top predators the wild. Sharks are probably most sought-after animal marine ecosystems by divers. Regulations have been put place, and even if they more or less respected, providing food still used some places order to attract wild animals. Because difficulty sampling shark guts, few studies analyzed microbiota sharks, none evaluated effect feeding on this microbiota. In work, we compare assemblages black-tip sharks between sites with without regular feeding. Our results revealed a significant both alpha beta diversities Notably, diversity fed was lower than unfed sharks. We hypothesize that result related intake where regularly provided. More need be conducted estimate impact physiology.
